The ruling BJP claimed a "historic victory" with win over 635 posts in the Uttar Pradesh Block Panchayat Chiefs.
Samajwadi Party (SP) candidates won in 103 block levels and others managed to bag 87 posts.
The polling for 476 posts of block panchayat chiefs took place on Saturday.
Around 349 candidates for the block panchayat chief posts were elected unopposed on Friday.

Voting will be held in 2.21 lakh seats in the first phase of UP panchayat election 2021
Polling will take place from 7 AM to 6 PM.
More than 3.33 lakh candidates are in the fray in over 2.21 lakh seats in the first phase for the posts of zila panchayat (district council) members, kshetra (block) panchayat members, village panchayat heads and wards.
"I have decided on my own to contest the poll for overall development of my village," Rani Devi said.
She has filed her nomination papers for Block Development Council (BDC) member.
The elections for gram, kshetra and zila panchayats will be held in the district in the first phase on April 15.
Miss India 2015 contestant and model Diksha Singh who is making her debut in politics by contesting the upcoming Uttar Pradesh panchayat elections filed her nominations from Jaunpur on Sunday (Aptil 4, 2021).
Diksha participated in the Femina Miss India in 2015 when she was a BA second-year student.
Diksha was last seen in the music album ‘Rabba Mehar Kare’ in February 2021.
The nomination for the first phase of UP Panchayat polls will start on April 3.
The BJP has also decided on names for various seats in Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Gorakhpur, RaeBareli, and Shravasti districts
