World's Deadliest Submarines: Indian Navy on August 29, 2024 inducted its second Arihant Class submarine - INS Arighaat to its fleet. It can reach speeds of up to 24 knots (44 km/h) when submerged and around 12-15 knots (22-28 km/h) on the surface. The INS Arighaat reportedly shares the same distinctive hump as the INS Arihant and is equipped with four missile launch tubes. Each tube can hold up to three K-15 submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) with a range of 750 km, or one K-4 SLBM with a range of 3,500 km. Both missile types are capable of carrying nuclear warheads, solidifying India’s nuclear triad.
