Imad Wasim expressed disappointment as Pakistan faced elimination from the T20 World Cup 2024 after the USA vs IRE match was washed out. Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan lost to USA and India.

Pakistan's early exit from the 2024 T20 World Cup, following a rain-affected match, led to a social media meme fest. The USA advanced to the Super 8 stage along with India. 

For Pakistan, the washout spelled disaster. With the USA gaining an automatic point from the abandoned match, they secured their place in the Super 8s with five points.

Ireland and hosts United States agreed to cancel the one-day international (ODI) series between the two sides after members of the touring staff tested positive for COVID-19, the two boards announced on Tuesday.

A statement issued by USA Cricket said that it will work closely with Cricket Ireland and the International Cricket Council (ICC) to ensure no more matches are lost.  

The series involves two T20Is, followed by three One-day Internationals, and will conclude on December 30. The preparations haven't gone as planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic with the practice games getting cancelled and both teams training individually on the centre wicket.
