As the weekend curfew in the state has come to an end, the schools in Uttar Pradesh will now open from Monday to Saturday for classes 9-12.
The order was issued by the additional chief secretary of secondary education, Aradhana Shukla.
"The order has been issued to open schools for students of classes 6-8 from September 23 and for classes 1-5 from September 1," a senior official said.
Earlier, the UP government had allowed physical classes for standard 9 to 12 with adherence to strict COVID-19 protocol from August 16.
As per official data on Tuesday, 27 people tested positive for coronavirus while one succumbed to the disease.
Amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken a major decision and passed an order not to increase the fees for the academic session 2021-22 to the schools of all boards operating in the state.
Amid rise in COVID-19 cases in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government on Friday (April 2) extended the durations of its order which directed the school authorities to keep the schools closed for Class 1 to 8.
The new date, as per the order, is now April 11.
UP CM ordered the closure of schools for students up to Class 8 till April 1, in the view of increasing COVID-19 infections.
Chief minister has also ordered concerned officials to increase the number of testing in the state.
It has been noted that people are still scared for to send their children to school and it has also affected school attendance.
Presently, schools are open twice a week for the students of these classes.
On Ambedkar's 126th birth anniversary, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that there will be no holiday in schools on birth anniversaries of great people.
Some schools in Uttar Pradesh have entrusted the job of evaluating board exam papers to peons, chowkidaars, clerks and sanitation workers.
