After putting up spirited shows in the previous Assembly and Parliamentary Elections, Vijaykant's DMDK is now in danger of losing state party status, thanks to its dismal performance in the just concluded polls.

A day after DMDK chief Vijayakant announced his candidature from Uloontherpet constituency for the May 16 Assembly polls, PMK today changed its nominee for the seat, fielding party spokesperson K Balu.

Nearly 200 polling booths in the district have been identified as sensitive and would have additional security and other measures.
Vijaykant, the actor-turned-politician, had recently announced his party's decision to fight the May 16 state elections alone.
