Virat Kohli suffered a minor knee injury during a net session in Dubai but is expected to be fit for the Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand.

The reason for Kohli’s absence has been attributed to a knee problem that he sustained the previous night.

Gavaskar also pondered whether the players' absence was due to non-injury reasons, hinting at a possible lack of commitment.

Kohli never in the past one year needed to check in at the Bengaluru's Centre of Excellence for injury or fitness related issues.

The Indian national selection committee await for an update on skipper Virat Kohli’s wrist injury before announcing India’s squad for the upcoming two-Test series against West Indies. 

Kohli injured his shoulder while fielding during the third Test against Australia at Ranchi after which he was ruled out of the deciding Test in Dharamsala as well.

After a loss and a win in the first two matches, RCB next face KXIP on April 10th at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

In the post match presentation post Dharamsala Test, speaking about his recovery from the shoulder niggle, Kohli said he will be back to full fitness in a few weeks.

At the pre-match press conference in Dharamsala, Kohli said that he will play in the fourth and final Test only if he is 100 per cent fit.

Virat Kohli's teammate Umesh Yadav had also given his opinion on the skipper's fitness, calling him fit for active participation in the Test.

In his absence, Ajinkya Rahane led the side. But Kohli is expected to join the play soon, probably in the post Tea session.
