Liverpool's star defender Virgil van Djik is set to undergo knee surgery after getting injured in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Everton on Saturday (Oct 17). This will come as a huge blow to EPL champions Liverpool's title defense - they have already looked dismal at the back in this new season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has allayed concerns regarding the fitness of Virgil van Dijk, insisting that the injury `will not be a problem`. van Dijk had to come-off in the 55th minute of The Reds friendly encounter against RB Salzburg. The Klopp-led side is gearing up for the Community Shield clash against Arsenal on August 29.

Premier League leaders Liverpool are chasing their first league title since 1990 and Van Dijk said Klopp could be brutally honest when assessing their performances.
