The BJP-led NDA government has saved Rs 36,000 crore by digitising economic activities in one year, Union Law and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said here on Saturday.

Seeking to dissuade labour unions from a nationwide strike on September 2, the government Tuesday announced 42 percent minimum wage hike and a two-year bonus, but the trade bodies rejected these measures as "completely inadequate" and stuck to their call.

Trade unions Tuesday said they will go ahead with nation-wide strike on September 2, rejecting as "completely inadequate" the government's 42 percent hike in minimum wage to Rs 350 per day.
