Warming News
British Journal..The Lancet has released a study report on the damage caused by climate change yesterday, today and tomorrow. This report has been prepared by 52 research institutes from around the world and 114 scientists and experts associated with different agencies of the United Nations.
Last 3rd and 4th July has been considered as the hottest day on earth. Many claims have been made by presenting the report of America's average global temperature. The reason for the increasing temperature is the effect of El-Nino and increasing carbon dioxide.
You must have noticed that the heat is gradually increasing in the country. Every year the temperature in summer is higher than the previous year. The World Bank has released a report regarding the heat in India. It has been told in the report that in the coming years such a heat wave will prevail in India which will be out of tolerance.
It gets more hot in the summer season and it rains more during the rainy season and in winter it gets very cold. The reason behind this is global warming. Down to Earth has warned in its research paper that by the year 2050, in the three big states of India, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, the mercury can go up to 50 ° C or above for at least 100 days every year.
Meeting the Paris Agreement's goal of keeping the global-scale warming to less than two degrees is likely to reduce the area of the globe that experiences greater than threefold increases in the probability of record-setting events.
Continuous emissions of greenhouse gases are warming the Earth's atmosphere and oceans and melting its ice, causing the rate of sea level rise to increase.
Because autumn and winter is when Arctic sea ice grows and thickens, warmer winter air temperatures will further impede ice growth and expansion, accelerating the effects of global warming in the Arctic.
As per the new research, the Arctic sea has been thawing at a rapid pace over the past three decades, making the ice to fall by more than half.
February 2017's temperature was 0.20 degrees Celsius cooler than February 2016.
Groundwater plays a vital role in food and water security in India.
East Antarctica`s massive ice sheet may be more exposed to global warming than long assumed, according to a study Monday that shows how strong winds can erode ice shelves that help hold it in place.
According to scientists, the Arctic is warming at nearly double the global rate as a result of climate change fuelled by mankind's burning of fossil fuels, a process that emits heat-trapping greenhouse gases.
As Earth continues to warm and is influenced by phenomena such as El Nino, global temperature records are piling up.
Researchers say the 2 degrees Celsius target cannot be met in many regions of the world, even if it were adhered to on a global scale.
The northeastern region will see a rise in temperatures by 1.8 to 2.1 degrees Celsius and an increase in the mean annual rainfall by 0.3 to 3 percent in the 2030s.
Using computer modelling, the researchers simulated the ice sheet's response to a warming climate under a range of greenhouse gas emission scenarios.
Earth is on track for average warming of 2.7 degrees Celsius by 2100, higher than the UN target, said an analysis today of country pledges for curbing climate-altering greenhouse gas emissions.
