WhatsApp included a 'Default Message Timer' option, which allows users to set messages sent in a new chat to expire after a certain amount of time. WhatsApp will also allow users to make previous communications 'disappear at once.' Users can currently enable the feature in advance, ensuring that messages sent in the future vanish after the selected time period.

WhatsApp may come up with a new feature soon. There will be an option to delete the message, but this will only function if the message was tagged for keeping in the first place. Disappearing messages are essentially a privacy feature that allows users to send messages but prevents them from being saved in the conversation.

WhatsApp has announced that users will now be able to turn on disappearing messages for all new chats automatically. WhatsApp is also offering users more control over how long communication is kept before being removed. However, there will now be the option of deleting texts after just 24 hours or after 90 days.

WhatsApp will allow users to choose how long they want their messages to "stay around." WhatsApp users on Android and iOS now have the option to turn on disappearing messages by default. When WhatsApp first started rolling out disappearing messages, the sole period option was seven days.

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that would eventually allow users to send messages that disappear after 90 days. This menu provides options ranging from 90 days, 7 days, 24 hours, or just completely turning off the feature. WhatsApp unveiled support for multiple devices on the web.

The disappearing messages feature is already ready to use and it must be enabled or disabled on each chat or group manually. It basically means that when you start a new chat, disappearing messages are off until you turn it on specifically for that chat.

According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp in Beta, the 24-hour option for disappearing messages revealed will be available in a future update.  

Besides that, WhatsApp has come up with a new feature that will help in bringing back the disappearing photos feature to both Android and iOS platforms. The new WhatsApp update for iOS version 2.21.71 will help users to see photos and videos without opening them. Last year in November, WhatsApp unveiled the Disappearing Messages for Android, iOS, and Linux-based KaiOS devices.

Similar to Snapchat, users will be able to decide the duration of the message, after which it will be deleted from the chat. As per the WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has been testing the ability to set messages to disappear after 24 hours which was earlier under development. This feature is available on both individual and group chats.

Now the messaging platform plans to soon add support for 24 hours as for now, the timer is for seven days for disappearing messages.
