World Meteorological Organization on Monday issued a new climate update.
It warned about the warmer years in the coming years.
WMO also said that the global average temperature was 1.1 °C above the pre-industrial baseline in 2021.
Hot years have typically been associated with El Niño, a natural event that releases heat from the Pacific Ocean
This year coincides with La Niña which has the opposite effect and cools temperatures
The WMO will confirm the data in March 2021
