'The Sound of Music Live’ is currently being aired on Tata Play Theatre at 2 pm and 8 pm. 

A glorious month of star-studded, award-winning musicals will begin with 'The Sound of Music Live!' which will be aired at Tata Play Theatre on May 29, followed by 'Hairspray Live!', 'Peter Pan Live!' and 'Billy Elliot: The Musical'.

Mahesh Dattani has directed Zee Theatre’s teleplay Final Solutions, Where Did I Leave My Purdah? The Big Fat City.” Dattani was the first playwright in English to be awarded the Sahitya Akademi award. World Theatre Day is celebrated on March 27.

‘Gidh’ which means ‘Vulture’, delves into Saleema’s mundane life which is disrupted after an unexpected visit from Salma who claims to be her sister-in-law. As the plot unfolds, both the women share the trials of their respective lives which they had to undergo because of the same man – Junaid, Salma’s brother and Saleema’s husband.

Actor Varun Badola plays a key role in an interesting storyline. The teleplay is directed by Ishan Trivedi and will be aired at Tata Sky throughout this month.

Professionally, yes, she agrees, the pace has slowed down but is happy that Zee Theatre is redefining the quintessential theatrical experience in an accessible format. Some Times’: The play captures the life of Paramjit aka Pammi aka Doggie aka Parmeetay.

‘White Lily, Night Rider’ follows Sonali Kulkarni and Milind Phatak posing as White Lily and Night Rider, two 30-something individuals trying to find love online. The versatile and effervescent Kulkarni, who was instrumental in keeping the play alive over the years, feels the story has only grown more relevant with time.

Renowned playwright Vijay Dhondopant Tendulkar has a rich body of work to his credit. Zee Theatre which has a repository of over 80 plays is celebrating some of Tendulkar’s best works. Let’s have a look at what is in store on 11th, 12th and 13th of September.
