Zimbabwean pastor Evan Mawarire, one of the organisers of recent protests calling for a change of government, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with inciting public violence, his lawyer said.

Public shows of dissent have been rare under Mugabe`s decades-long oppressive rule, but they have erupted regularly in recent months as the battered economy has ground to a virtual halt.
