In a new development, Hyundai India has announced to offer all of its models with at least 4 airbags as standard, along with 3-point seats belts for all occupants with seat belt reminder alarms.

The government had earlier planned to make six airbags mandatory in eight-seater vehicles for enhanced safety of occupants from October 1, 2022.
Announcing the new dates for implementation of mandatory 6 airbags, Nitin Gadkari said that "safety of all passengers travelling in motor vehicles irrespective of their cost and variants is the foremost priority."
