Voting for seven assembly seats across six states has started. Many of these seats are a direct contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party and regional parties.

Nitish Kumar's JD-U contested on 115 seats and it could win only 43 seats, thereby, with a strike rate of only 37 percent
Yogi held 19 rallies in 17 districts, while he was busy with by-elections in seven Assembly seats in his home state
The NDA candidates also won in the majority of 19 assembly seats where Yogi Adityanath campaigned for Nitish Kumar
Many strongholds of Mahagathbandhan were swept away by the Yogi wave
