Bihar is gearing up for Assembly elections, and at the heart of the contest is RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, who is looking to grab power this time without JDU's support, having missed the 2020 polls by a close margin. The RJD is focusing on people's issues, promising free electricity, and highlighting crimes in the state. 

- ECI clarified on Friday that no political party has submitted any claim or objection to the draft rolls. - The forms received from 'New electors on attaining 18 years of age or above' were 36,060 so far, and none have been disposed of. - According to the poll commission, a total of 1,60,813 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of six national parties and six state-level parties were involved in the exercise.

- Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, announced the formation of a new alliance with five regional parties under the theme of social justice and total transformation - Tej Pratap said his alliance includes Vikas Vanchit Insaan Party (VVIP), Bhojpuriya Jan Morcha (BJM), Pragatisheel Janta Party (PJP), Wajib Adhikar Party (WAP), and Samyukta Kisan Vikas Party - He also extended an open invitation to the RJD to join the alliance, but firmly ruled out any alliance with the BJP or JD-U.

Amit Malviya accused Tejashwi Yadav of holding multiple voter IDs and called the Opposition an ‘Alliance of Pappus.’ The controversy started after Tejashwi claimed changes in his EPIC details in the latest Bihar draft voter list.

A new poster outside the Janata Dal (United) state office in Patna stirred the political atmosphere in Bihar on Saturday, as several party workers publicly demanded that Nishant Kumar, son of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, enter active politics and contest elections.

Ahead of Bihar elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday announced that eligible domestic consumers across the state will receive up to 125 units of electricity free of cost starting August 1, a move set to benefit around 1.67 crore families.

A Bench of Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Joymalya Bagchi agreed to hear the pleas against the ECI’s order directing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar after a battery of lawyers, including senior advocates Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Gopal Sankaranarayanan and Shadan Farasat, mentioned the matter for urgent listing.  

The Opposition leaders, including Congress’s Rahul Gandhi, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, and Bihar politician Pappu Yadav, will take part in a ‘Chakka Jam’ protest in Patna on July 9 in a show of protest against the ECI’s voter list revision exercise. Earlier, RJD leader Manoj Jha challenged in the Supreme Court the ECI’s move to immediately implement the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list across Bihar. 

BJP’s approach is not loud. It is slow, targeted and focussed. It is not trying to claim all Muslims. Just the ones who have always felt invisible. 

Lalu Prasad Yadav has been re-elected unopposed as the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national president for his 13th consecutive term. The formal announcement will be made on July 5 in Patna, consolidating his hold on the party ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

Currently, Nitish Kumar's JDU is in power with the BJP-led NDA. On the opposing side stands the RJD, led by Tejashwi Yadav, the son of former CMs Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. 

RJD's Tejashwi Yadav shared a video on his social media of a doctor allegedly beaten in Bihar's Gaya and said that the law and order situation is worse than Taliban rule.

Chirag Paswan's growing popularity can be attributed, in part, to his efforts to assert himself as a strong Dalit leader in Bihar. By projecting himself as a champion of the marginalized, he has managed to carve out a niche for himself in the state's politics.

Tejashwi Yadav accused the NDA government of failing to develop Bihar despite being in power for 20 years in the state and 11 years at the Centre.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest in all seats in the Bihar Assembly Elections of 2025. 

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rohini Acharya has come out in strong support of her father and party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's decision to expel his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from both the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the family, citing repeated violations of family values and public conduct.

After the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Yadav expelled his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from the party for six years, Jan Suraaj's founder and poll-strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor weighed in and asked what Bihar has to do with this expulsion.
