Bihar is gearing up for Assembly elections, and at the heart of the contest is RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, who is looking to grab power this time without JDU's support, having missed the 2020 polls by a close margin. The RJD is focusing on people's issues, promising free electricity, and highlighting crimes in the state. 

- ECI clarified on Friday that no political party has submitted any claim or objection to the draft rolls. - The forms received from 'New electors on attaining 18 years of age or above' were 36,060 so far, and none have been disposed of. - According to the poll commission, a total of 1,60,813 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of six national parties and six state-level parties were involved in the exercise.

- Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, announced the formation of a new alliance with five regional parties under the theme of social justice and total transformation - Tej Pratap said his alliance includes Vikas Vanchit Insaan Party (VVIP), Bhojpuriya Jan Morcha (BJM), Pragatisheel Janta Party (PJP), Wajib Adhikar Party (WAP), and Samyukta Kisan Vikas Party - He also extended an open invitation to the RJD to join the alliance, but firmly ruled out any alliance with the BJP or JD-U.

Under the SIR guidelines, from August 1 to September 1, voters and political parties can submit requests to add names of eligible individuals who were left out, or file objections against entries believed to be ineligible.

Chirag Paswan said that being an ally of the NDA, it is his responsibility to ensure that if there are any issues, they will be discussed and improved. Meanwhile, earlier Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, claimed that Paswan and Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) chief Prashant Kishor have allied. 

The top court will hear petitions challenging Bihar's Special Intensive Revision on Monday. In the previous hearing, the SC had asked the ECI to consider “in the interest of justice” if documents such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, and Ration Cards could be accepted for voter verification.

The ECI said the lists of those electors who have not filled the enumeration forms or are deceased and those who have permanently migrated have already been shared on July 20 with all 12 political parties. Nearly 99.8 percent of Bihar electors have been covered so far under the SIR exercise.

Bihar SIR: The ECI also found that there are seven lakh duplicate voters enrolled in two constituencies while 26 lakh voters have shifted to another constituency.
