An accident with the chopper of former Karnataka Chief Minister Yeddyurappa was averted by accident. During the landing of Yediyurappa's chopper in Kalaburagi area, the gusty wind blew away the slums nearby due to the storm from the blade. Seeing this, the pilot stopped the landing and survived the accident.
Vijayendra was made the Vice President of Karnataka BJP in July 2020.
Earlier he was appointed general secretary of BJP youth wing by the party.

He added, ‘I will move the confidence motion in the Vidhana Soudha on Monday’. The new BJP government, that came to power last week after unseating coalition government, will face the trust vote on Monday.

Day after taking oath as Chief Minister, BS Yeddyurappa on Sunday chaired BJP Legislature meeting at a private hotel and later decided to keep all its lawmakers in the hotel itself.
The Assembly strength has been reduced to 208 from 225, including a nominated member after Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar disqualified 17 Congress-Janata Dal-Secular rebel legislators.
BS Yediyurappa is confident of getting the numbers in Monday's floor test to truly stamp himself as the CM of Karnataka. He had taken oath as CM last Friday (July 26).
With the 14 disqualification of 14 MLAs on Sunday and three others on 25 July, the Assembly is short by 17 legislators.

BS Yeddyurappa to meet Karnataka Governor to stake claim to form Karnataka Government today
Karnataka BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa will take oath as the state chief minister at 6 pm on Friday.
Yeddyurappa said that he will meet the Governor around 10 AM to stake claim to form government in Karnataka, three days after the HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition failed a trust vote.
The leaders including former Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar, J Crew Madhuswamy, Arvind Limbawali and some others will be meeting BJP chief Amit Shah and working president JP Nadda in Delhi, according to party sources
The party's state unit will also convey its decision to the BJP's parliamentary board for its consent to allow Yeddyurappa to head the new government as its chief minister.
Following the trust vote, BJP’s BS Yeddyurappa declared that he would meet Governor Vajubhai Vala to stake claim for government formation.
