Automobile sales and output in China both hit record highs in November as demand continued to soar after the government halved vehicle purchase tax in the world's largest auto market, industry data showed on Thursday.  

China`s auto sales fell year-on-year in June, an industry group said Friday, as a slowing economy and rollercoaster stocks hit demand in the world`s largest car market.

China's automobile market, the largest in the world, contracted in May as sales declined for the second consecutive month by 4.55 percent to 1.9 million units, according to official data released Wednesday.

China`s auto sales fell slightly on a year-on-year basis in May, an industry group said Wednesday, as a slowing economy prompts manufacturers to cut prices and trim production in the world`s largest car market.

CAAM figures showed, fall in April compared with a rise of 3.3% in March.

Vehicle sales had slipped 0.2 percent from 2014 in February.

Auto sales in China, the world's biggest car market, grew 2.8 percent year-on-year in October, an industry group said today, a slight acceleration from the previous month's weak result.

A total of 1.99 million vehicles were sold in October, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said in a statement.

In July sales had climbed 6.7 percent year-on-year to 1.62 million vehicles, previous figures showed.
