For the first time since 2011, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) on Thursday announced no hike in power rates in the city at the end of its annual tariff determination process, prompting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to ascribe it to "honest politics".
Reacting to the DERC's decision, the Aam Aadmi Party Government said it will ask the regulator to review the hike as it will put additional burden on the consumers.
The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission has hiked the power tariff in Delhi by upto six percent effective from Monday.
Facing severe attack from political parties, Delhi's power regulator DERC on Friday withdrew the power tariff hike of up to seven percent which was announced last night.
