Amid the ongoing drive to make the state a drug-free one, Punjab Police’s Counter Intelligence (CI) Amritsar has busted a cross-border narcotics smuggling module with links to Pakistan and arrested four of its operatives after recovering 4 kg heroin from their possession, Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said here on Saturday.  

The intelligence agencies have called it a big cocktail of terrorism which includes numbers of terror outfits and ultras.

The policemen who came to catch the drug smuggler hiding in the Indrapuri area of Delhi were attacked by the drug mafia. The police had to fire in the defense. 2 people were shot in the firing.

810 Grams of white colored powder was recovered from 54 Capsules while 1415 Grams of white colored powder was recovered from 97 capsules. They had concealed the capsules filled with cocaine inside their stomachs. Further investigation in the matter is undergoing.

Both parcels were detained and examined based on intelligence. First parcel contained a plastic pouch that enclosed grey colour tablets. The 60 tablets were embossed with the skull mark and were identified as the very high dose ‘Reaper’ variant, which contains 350mg of MDMA. Second parcel contained a plastic pouch with 40 green color tablets. They were identified as ‘Red Bull’ variant (bull sign embossed) containing 225mg of MDMA.

Main accused Tushar Suryakant Kale, a resident of Borivali was arrested along with Rakesh Srikanth Khanivadekar alias Raki and a Nigerian national named Efnairi Udoko. Case goes back to Oct 7, 2020, when Police had received an input that there is a type of drug that was being manufactured and sold. Police then seized Rs 20 crore worth of meow meow or MD drugs from a car and apprehended five accused. After investigation of the case, the police found out about the biotech company which was then raided and sealed.

The contraband was recovered and seized under the NDPS Act, 1985. On examination, branded masala packets weighing 50 gm and 100 gm were found among other grocery items. Closer inspection revealed that the chilli powder and sambhar powder packets were tampered with.

The J&K Police on Friday said that they have busted a narcotic racket in Baramulla and arrested 4 persons with 6 kg cocaine worth crores. It’s for the first time that cocaine worth crores have been seized in action against drug smugglers by Jammu & Kashmir Police. Four drug peddlers, who were arrested in this connection, disclosed that they were possessing cocaine worth crores of rupees. They have been identified as Bilal Mir, Rafiq Sofi alias Kanjwal, Tariq Bhuroo and Shabir Ahmed
