Amid the ongoing drive to make the state a drug-free one, Punjab Police’s Counter Intelligence (CI) Amritsar has busted a cross-border narcotics smuggling module with links to Pakistan and arrested four of its operatives after recovering 4 kg heroin from their possession, Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said here on Saturday.

810 Grams of white colored powder was recovered from 54 Capsules while 1415 Grams of white colored powder was recovered from 97 capsules. They had concealed the capsules filled with cocaine inside their stomachs. Further investigation in the matter is undergoing.

Both parcels were detained and examined based on intelligence. First parcel contained a plastic pouch that enclosed grey colour tablets. The 60 tablets were embossed with the skull mark and were identified as the very high dose ‘Reaper’ variant, which contains 350mg of MDMA. Second parcel contained a plastic pouch with 40 green color tablets. They were identified as ‘Red Bull’ variant (bull sign embossed) containing 225mg of MDMA.

Main accused Tushar Suryakant Kale, a resident of Borivali was arrested along with Rakesh Srikanth Khanivadekar alias Raki and a Nigerian national named Efnairi Udoko. Case goes back to Oct 7, 2020, when Police had received an input that there is a type of drug that was being manufactured and sold.
