Key to India-Pak ceasefire, Foreign Secy Vikram Misri faced trolling; leaders, diplomats backed him, citing his integrity and service.

The Foreign Secretary made it clear that such violence is unacceptable, stressing the importance of ensuring the protection of religious freedoms and minority communities in Bangladesh.  

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) approved the proposal made by the Ministry of External Affairs for appointing Vikram Misri as the next Foreign Secretary, succeeding Vinay Mohan Kwatra as Foreign Secretary.  

Foreign Secretary Harsh V Shringla met with US deputy secretary of state Wendy Sherman on Thursday. They discussed a broad range of shared priorities, including continued coordination on Afghanistan.

Shringla reached UK on a two-day visit on Friday to take stock of the Roadmap 2030 towards closer UK-India ties agreed between Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Boris Johnson. During his visit, he held meetings with senior UK government representatives, including Permanent Under-Secretary in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and others.

Indian Foreign Secretary to visit Nepal on Nov 26. Shringla will be in Nepal from Nov 26-27. During his visit, he will hand over COVID-19 related support to Nepal govt.

Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla asserted that India has dealt with the "worst crisis" in decades with China with "firmness and maturity". Shringla mentioned two recent terrorist incidents in France, one of which he said had its origins in Pakistan. He noted that the civilised world needs to act with firmness to address the threat of terrorism.

Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Monday (March 2) stressed that the NRC will have no implications for Bangladesh and its people and the process is "entirely internal to India".

Indian Ambassador in Washington Harsh Vardhan Shringla appointed new Foreign Secretary.

Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said, "India is ready for an informal summit with China again in the future". He told the press conference how Xi Jinping and his delegation felt during their visit to India and how fruitful this summit was.
