Pakistan head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has opposed the idea of reducing Test matches to four-day affairs, saying that it can result in career-threatening injuries to players-- especially to bowlers. 

 Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has opposed the idea of playing a four-day Test and called it a "rubbish".

South Africa won by an innings and 120 runs inside two days after bowling out Zimbabwe for 68 and 121 in the inaugural four-day Test at Port Elizabeth.

South Africa crushed Zimbabwe by an innings and 120 runs inside two days in their one-off day-night Test at St George's Park on Wednesday. Forced to follow on after being bowled out for 68 in their first innings, Zimbabwe were shot out for 121 runs in their second innings.

Cricket will venture into new territory when South Africa tackle Zimbabwe in the first official four-day Test match to be played at St George`s Park in Port Elizabeth starting on Tuesday.

One reason for BCCI not warming up to four day Test is because there are no points awarded for the proposed Test league. It is learnt that ICC's main aim towards promoting four-day Test is to ensure that Ireland and Afghanistan are eased into the system along with Zimbabwe being able to remain competitive.
