Ringing Bells, the Noida-based company that courted controversy after announcing a phone at an astonishingly low price of Rs 251 five months back, today claimed it has begun delivery of the world's cheapest smartphone in five states including Haryana, West Bengal and Bihar.

The controversial Noida-based startup, Ringing Bells Pvt Ltd will start delivery its Rs 251 smartphone, the Freedom 251 from June 30, and not June 28 as reported earlier.

A new entrant in the flourishing Indian mobile handset market, Ringing Bells last week unveiled what is being touted as the world's cheapest smartphone. However, concerns have been raised by the industry on feasibility of a 3G smartphone at such a low price.
