A `Jhula Bridge` is in the making in Uttarakhand`s recent flood ravaged zone that will soon connect hundreds of people residing in 13 villages. The villages lost their road connectivity from rest of the country after the flash flood that swept away the Raini bridge in the region on February 7.

The glacier burst in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district has left many in distress. Indian military personnel teamed up with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to mount rescue operations. Central and state governments observe the situation closely and said the government has all the needed assistance to handle the situation for now.

Around 178 people are reportedly missing at state-run NTPC Ltd’s 520 MW Tapovan Vishnugad hydropower project site, after a glacier near Raini village above Rishiganga river in Uttarakhand burst on February 07.
So far, 33 bodies have been recovered from different areas in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district due to the bursting of the glacier. According to the state government, 206 people are still missing, including 25-35 people trapped inside the Tapovan tunnel.

Regarding the devastation caused by the glacier bursting in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that so far 11 bodies have been recovered and 203 people are missing, many people were working on the Tapovan project.
