Delhi Police on Sunday arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gulab Singh from Gujarat in an alleged extortion case involving his associates. 

Amid the ongoing Patidar agitation in Gujarat, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the families of deceased Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) pro-reservationists Girish and Siddharth and asked the Gujarat government to severely punish the politician who gave shooting orders to the police.

Police said Singh had informed about joining the probe on September 16, but failed to appear before the investigators. 

AAP MLA from Matiala Gulab Singh is also co-incharge of Aam Aadmi Party's Gujarat affairs.

 Delhi Police told the Delhi High Court on Wednesday that it won't arrest AAP legislator Gulab Singh, who allegedly assaulted a junior engineer.
