The Pakistan-based group (dubbed as APT36) is using a malicious file titled "Revision of Officers posting policy" to lure the Indian Army into compromising their systems. The file is disguised as a legitimate document, but it contains embedded malware designed to exploit vulnerabilities, the team noted.

Samsung, is planning to hire around 1,000 engineers for its research institutes across India. These young engineers will join in 2023 and will work on new-age technologies such as AI, IoT, Cloud, Big data, Business Intelligence, Predictive Analysis, etc. They have also offered over 400 pre-placement offers (PPOs) to students at the IITs and other top institutions.

With 1,000 PhD scholarships for ASEAN students in India's Indian Institutes of Technology or IITs, New Delhi on Monday formally announced it its largest capacity development initiative for ASEAN countries. The total budget outlay of the scholarship programme is Rs 300 crore and the first batch of ASEAN students will be admitted in January 2020.

The outlay for the University Grants Commission (UGC) is Rs 4,600.66 in the budget, a decrease from Rs 4,722.75 crore in 2018-19

The Council of IITs also decided against any changes to the fee structure.

The list is awash with IITs and IIMs, and features only one private Indian institution.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018 has released its list, but not a single Indian institute has made it to the top 100.

In a reply to All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi`s statement on directing the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and central universities to host rock bands that would sing patriotic songs on the campuses, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that people with extreme view point and insecurities tend to oppose anything that comes up in terms of national interest.

The move comes after a high-powered committee, constituted to look at the governance structure of all new AIIMS, recommended evolving an umbrella organisation for framing common policies in terms of HR, recruitment, equipment procurement guidelines and administration in all institutes.

The gender ratio of the successful candidates stands at 43,318 boys and 7,137 girls (86 per cent boys and 14 per cent girls approximately).

A networked knowledge and research centre aimed at safety and reliability of electronics and hardware will be launched at IIT Kharagpur, a statement said on Thursday.

Concerned over the fall in the number of girl students in IITs, a panel was formed last year to find ways to improve the situation in the institutes.

"India is happy to help Nepal with its human resource development,” the president said.
