Jagmohan Dalmiya News
Former BCCI president Biswanath Dutt passed away on Monday morning following prolonged illness.
The Cricket Association of Bengal has been awarded the 'Best Overall Performance Award' of the BCCI for the 2017-18 domestic season for the consistency of its senior and junior men and women's teams.
It was India`s aggressive championing of Bangladesh`s cause that proved decisive, led by Dalmiya who was ICC president in 2000.
Vaishali Dalmiya is the daughter of late Jagmohan Dalmiya, the former president of International Cricket Council and Board of Cricket Council of India.
Even during his exile, Srinivasan managed to lead the state association to a successful Tamil Nadu Premier League, modelled along the lines of IPL.
Meanwhile, the Bengal Premier League is expected to start from February next year.
Dalmiya passed away last September as sitting BCCI president after a brief illness.
Manohar's exit has come at a critical time when the board is already facing wrath of the Supreme Court to implement sweeping reforms suggested by the Lodha panel.
As a part of the cleansing process, Manohar made the BCCI more transparent by putting up balance sheets and board constitution on official website.
Manohar is now in line to become ICC's first ever independent chairman and could hold the position till 2021.
Manohar took over as chief in October 2015 after Dalmiya's death.
Manohar only took the board's top position last October and if he resigns this May, it will be one of the shortest terms ever served by a president. It's worth noting that Jagmohan Dalmiya's reign lasted only six months — from March to September 2015 — until he passed away.
If at all Manohar wins the ICC chairman's election, then he will be eligible to hold the post till 2021.
CAC was made to give advise to world's richest board on crucial cricket related matters.
The source said that MCA officials feels that some suggestions by Lodha panel are not practical.
The executive committee will within three months' time elect the office bearers as the former India captain may also occupy the president's post of NCC which is lying vacant after the demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya.
Kohli first helped India to a first series win in Sri Lanka in 22 years, then made history beating the No.1 Test side South Africa, who were undefeated overseas in 9 years.
The committee which was formed through an initiative led by BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur, with the late Jagmohan Dalmiya as president.
Indian cricket is going through a difficult period both on and, more, off the field and Shashank Manohar may not have bargained for this when he agreed to return as president of the Indian board.
