Earlier today, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appointed former Congress leader Jaiveer Shergill as its national spokesperson.

Jaiveer Shergill, former spokesperson of the Congress party, had resigned from the party a few days back. Now he has decided to go with BJP. So, on the other hand, the BJP has also given a reward to the former Congress youth leader as soon as he joined the party.

In a shot in the arm, former Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill its national spokesperson, the party said in a statement. Shergill, an eminent lawyer, was part of the Congress party for 8 years before he quit in the month of August. The very next month, Shergill joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

BJP included former UP president Swatantra Dev Singh as members of its national executive. It also appointed former Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill its national spokesperson, the party said in a statement.

Jitin Prasada started his career with Youth Congress and was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 2004.
Sushmita Deb, who was the national president of Congress Mahila Morcha, left the party membership in 2021.
Hardik Patel, a Patidar leader in Gujarat, has resigned from the Congress in 2022.
