India and US have jointly launched the Climate Action and Finance Mobilization Dialogue (CAFMD). It was launched during the meeting b/w Union Cabinet Minister for Environment Bhupender Yadav and US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry.

US and South Korea to discuss international efforts to tackle global warming. South Korea raised concerns over Japan`s decision to release contaminated water from its crippled Fukushima nuclear plant. 1 million tonnes of water will be discharged from the plant wrecked by an earthquake and tsunami into the nearby sea off Japan`s east coast.

Biden will hold a virtual summit for dozens of world leaders to discuss climate change. Global climate talks are scheduled for November 1-12 in Glasgow. US Special Presidential Envoy on Climate John Kerry called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Kerry briefed PM Modi about the upcoming Leaders Summit on climate that will be hosted by US Prez Joe Biden.

US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry praised India on Tuesday as a world leader in renewable energy and said it was ahead of other countries in committing to clean energy goals.

US said that India is a critical part of the solution to the climate crisis. John Kerry will be on a four-day visit to the country, during which he will be meeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. John Kerry will also hold talks with his counterpart, environment minister Prakash Javdekar.

The White House did not respond to Kerry`s comment, but Trump had earlier slammed the media for not understanding him and his approach to Davos.

Kerry is defending the deal during a forum in Washington.
