Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Race: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is in Chennai today and is likely to meet AIADMK leaders to advance the alliance talks besides finalizing new party chief for the state.  

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai said that the party would choose a leader unanimously for the state's BJP chief position.

Earlier Tamil Nadu BJP State President K Annamalai on Sunday slammed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for his stance against the three-language formula in education.

While addressing the media in his hometown Coimbatore, Annamalai accused the DMK government for the deteriorating law and order in the state and removed his shoes, saying that he won’t wear any shoes until the ruling government is overthrown in the state.

MK Stalin took to social media platform ‘X’ hours after the Opposition staged a walkout in the Rajya Sabha over the ‘Budget discrimination.’

Following the DMK leader's remarks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Annamalai's defence and said that it reflected the character of the ruling party in the state and that 'arrogance is against the great culture of Tamil Nadu'.

The BJP leader also alleged that the DMK is behind the attacks. Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi has been at the loggerheads with the DMK government over various issues including the passing of many legislations.

BJP state president K Annamalai had shared an audio clip on his Twitter page recently, claiming Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Rajan made some 'revelation' about the assets of DMK president and Chief Minister M K Stalin's son Udhaynidhi and son-in-law Sabareesan.

In its directive dated March 10 issued to milk cooperatives and private dairy located in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the FSSAI had asked them to use the term 'Dahi' with prevalent regional names in brackets.

BJP state unit chief K Annamalai said the notification was not in tandem with Centre's policy of promoting regional languages.

"You [DMK government] think that you can suppress the voice of democracy by filing false cases. As a common man, I give you 24 hours, to touch me if possible," the BJP state unit president said in a tweet.
