Besides Dileep, his younger brother P Sivakumar and brother-in-law T N Suraj have also moved the court seeking the same relief.

Dileep said both the investigating and the prosecuting agencies have "abandoned the trial in a court" and filed the petition against the state police chief, the investigating officer and a private television channel.

This is the third time that the court is postponing the plea in the wake of fresh developments and as on the previous two occasions, the court ordered that there should be no arrest of the actor, till then.

Dileep had moved the court seeking anticipatory bail in the new case registered by the police team investigating the actress abduction case, in which he is an accused.
