The attack killed 10 peshmerga soldiers and three villagers. Islamic State has not claimed the attack yet.

Iran`s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday after meeting Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in Tehran that the two countries should prevent Iraq`s Kurdistan region from declaring independence, state TV reported.

Iraq on Monday authorised foreigners stranded in Iraqi Kurdistan after an international flight ban to leave the country via Baghdad despite not having a federal visa.

A vehicle laden with explosives rammed into a gendarmes` base in Turkey`s mainly Kurdish southeast on Monday, wounding several people, a security source said.
