Lodha reforms News

alt
The re-do of the constitution of the MCA is aimed at implementing the Lodha reforms.
alt
The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) adopted the recommendations of the Justice RM Lodha committee at its Special General Body Meeting held here on Friday.
alt
The Vinod Rai-led Committee of Administrators (CoA), in its fifth status report, on August 16 pulled up the BCCI for deliberately misconstruing the apex court's order to bar CEO Rahul Johri and the legal team from attending the SGM held on July 26.
alt
Despite the Supreme Court barring disqualified officials like N Srinivasan and Niranjan Shah, some of their confidantes may threaten to once again play spoilsport although they may just be very small in number.
alt
This new development comes after the apex court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), in a scathing status report, described the duo of Srinivasan and Shah as "disqualified office bearers with vested interest", who are still trying to stall implementation of Lodha reforms.
alt
Three other points are 'One State One Vote', Cooling off period of three years after every tenure and also doing away with 'Cooling off period' for Apex Council members (as and when Lodha Reforms are implemented).
alt
Saurashtra strongman Shah is in the Sourav Ganguly-led Special Panel even though the Lodha recommendations render him ineligible to be a state or BCCI administrator on all counts.
alt
The other members of the panel are TC Mathew (Kerala Cricket), Naba Bhattacharjee (North East representative), Jay Shah (Gujarat Cricket Association), BCCI treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary and BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary.
alt
BCCI's acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary said that the committee will start working in the next two days.
alt
A showcause notice has also been issued to Anurag Thakur for lying on whether he had asked for a letter from ICC CEO on the appointment of CAG as BCCI member.
alt
It should be noted that if Thakur is found to have committed perjury then he might land in jail.
alt
Lodha said the committee remains open to talking to BCCI top-brass including Thakur to talk about the road ahead.
alt
There is confusion on the part of state cricket associations and the Supreme Court should help and resolve the issue, said Anurag Thakur
alt
During its October 6 hearing, the three-member judge had dismissed BCCI`s response to the status report filed by the Lodha committee following the board`s failure to meet an important deadline with respect to the implementation of a Memorandum of Associations (MoA), as necessitated by the timelines framed by the Lodha committee.
