United States space agency NASA's lunar probe will fly over the landing site of Chandryaan-2's Vikram Lander on the Moon on Tuesday, September 17. New information regarding the condition of the lander is expected from this expedition.

For the first time in Indian history, ISRO is all set to mark its presence on the Moon.  

The first one will be the Chandrayaan-2 mission, an advanced version of its previous 2018 mission with the objective of deeper lunar surface probe, and the second mission will be an initiative by Team Indus – a group of space enthusiasts that wants to unfurl the tricolour on the moon's surface as part of a global lunar competition.

They said the proposal was for JAXA to contribute to a multinational manned lunar probe by contributing technology, which would grant Japan a spot on the mission.

From the sudden and jagged pattern apparent in the image, the LROC team determined that the camera must have been hit by a tiny meteoroid, NASA said in a statement on Friday.

The agency is looking to build a crew tended spaceport in lunar orbit within the first few missions that would serve as a gateway to deep space and the lunar surface.

With an aim to carve out a niche for itself by exploring the dark side of the lunar surface, the project will implement topographic and geological surveys and conduct laboratory research on lunar samples.

It will have the widest observation spectrum and highest energy resolution of any dark-matter probe in the world.
