Congress claimed that something major is going to happen in the coming days, which may leave Maharashtra CM Fadnavis in shock.

When Shinde rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray and joined the BJP, Y-security cover was given to 44 MLAs and 11 Lok Sabha MPs who had supported him. Now, the covers have been withdrawn for all MLAs who are not ministers.  

The disaster management authority, formed after the devastating Mumbai floods in 2005, plays a crucial role in coordinating emergency responses under the chief minister's leadership. 

In the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Mahayuti coalition of BJP, NCP, and Shiv Sena won 230 of the 288 seats in the state. BJP led the pack with 132 seats. 

It is pertinent to mention that Fadnavis has retained a major portion of power in the Maharashtra Cabinet with portfolios such as Energy (excluding Renewable Energy), Law and Judiciary, General Administration, and Information & Publicity.      

Notable names that did not make the cut in Fadnavis' cabinet include Chhagan Bhujbal (NCP), Sudhir Mungantiwar, Ravindra Chavan (BJP), and Dilip Walse Patil (NCP). 

Prominent leaders excluded from the ministry include NCP's Chhagan Bhujbal and Dilip Walse Patil, along with BJP's Sudhir Mungantiwar. 

Sharad Pawar claimed that no enthusiasm or overt joy was visible among the people of Maharashtra after the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition's landslide victory.

Eknath Shinde's interest in the Home Department, overseeing the police, is well-known. In 2019, during the MVA government, he had eagerly eyed the portfolio under Uddhav Thackeray's leadership.

BJP announced the date of swearing-in—December 5 at Azad Maidan, but the statement has not been able to shush the murmurs of discontent within Mahayuti camp.

Even after the meeting with Amit Shah, there was no clarity on his candidacy. This has led to discussions about whether the BJP may introduce a new face for the CM position.
