Maruti Suzuki has plans to launch the Maruti Suzuki Jimny in India, while it already has a variety of vehicles like Alto, WagonR, Swift, Brezza, Grand Vitara, and many others.

The company had sold 1,72,986 units in April last year, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement.

The company's domestic sales stood at 1,53,550 units, up 1.4 percent from 1,51,400 units in September last year, MSI said in a statement.

The company, which sold 1.56 million units last fiscal, expects to achieve the target on the back of favourable economy and government policies.

The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Wednesday reported a 10.9 percent increase in total sales at 1,30,280 units in February as against 1,17,451 in the year-ago month.

Sales of utility vehicles, including Gypsy, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, S-Cross and recently launched compact SUV Vitara Brezza surged over two-fold to 17,382 units in July this year from 6,916 units in the corresponding month last year.

For the 13th month in a row, domestic car sales in India rose with sales for the month of November crossing 10 percent.

Country's top carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Tuesday reported a 42.1 percent jump in net profit at Rs 1,225.56 crore for the September quarter, driven by strong sales growth, lower material cost and favourable foreign exchange.
