Amid rising threats and post-Pahalgam attack tensions, the Union Home Ministry has ordered nationwide mock drills on May 7 across 259 districts to boost civil defence readiness, focusing on sirens, blackouts, training, and emergency response at all levels.  

The exercise will take place on May 7 and is meant to test how ready India is to handle a hostile attack through different emergency situations.

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday instructed all states and union territories to conduct mock drills The Prime Minister has been conducting a series of high-level meetings with senior Defence officials This exercise aims to assess and enhance the readiness of civil defence mechanisms across all states and Union territories.

Air raid sirens will be activated in several parts of the country on May 7 as part of mock drills designed to train civilians on how to protect themselves in the event of a war-like situation.
