Trump warmly greets PM Modi, gifting his book and reinforcing strong India-US ties, fostering deeper cooperation and friendship.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the US and received a warm welcome from President Donald Trump. The US President met with Prime Minister Modi and gifted him a coffee table book titled 'Our Journey Together', with the message: "Mr. Prime Minister, you're great," signed by Trump.

Modi In US: The President of the United States Donald Trump and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi held wide-ranging bilateral talks in the White House on Thursday. At the same time, the two countries sealed trade deals and agreed to greater cooperation in areas like oil, energy and gas. India and the US also decided to take a big leap in broad-basing their strategic ties in several critical areas. However, during the meeting, the US also agreed to give a booster shot to India that would help it counter China.

Modi In US: As Indian and the US officials reached mutually acceptable solutions to the most of the issues, Trump praised Modi adding that the Indian PM is a tough negotiator. 

The U.S. and India have a trade deficit of $50 billion in India’s favor. The Indo-U.S. goods and services trade totaled around $190.1 billion in 2023. 

Modi and Trump strengthen ties on trade, defense, energy, security, and terrorism, with extradition of Tahawwur Rana approved.

Donald Trump has talked positively of Modi even during his campaign and thus the upcoming meeting is expected to further deepen the Indo-US ties.
