Even in the country's capital Delhi, waterlogging has made life difficult for the people. The rising water level of the Yamuna river in Delhi has increased the restlessness of the people as well as the government.
As many as 18 people, including six children, have so far been killed in rain-related incidents in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
Monsoon season has hit the entire central and western India. For the past one week, it has been raining heavily in the western states of the country. Roads were flooded after heavy rains in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. Water has also entered people's homes in many areas.
Rain has brought some relief from the scorching heat in recent times. South-West Monsoon has become active in most states of the country including Delhi. Apart from this, in the areas where the monsoon has not yet reached, monsoon will also enter there in the coming few days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh for the coming days. According to the latest weather bulletin of IMD, rain activity is likely to increase in Gujarat from September 19. Meanwhile, light rain has been predicted for today in Uttar Pradesh, Alwar, and Haryana.

With the onset of monsoon on Wednesday morning, there were reports of water logging in many areas including Hindmata, Gandhi Market in King Circle, Dadar TT due to rain in Mumbai. Apart from this, high tide of 4.16 meters was expected in the city at 11:43 am.
Heavy rains started in India's financial capital Mumbai and other suburbs of Maharashtra including Thane on Wednesday morning. After the rains, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the monsoon has already reached Mumbai before the average arrival date.

The IMD said that monsoon over Kerala is expected to arrive over Kerala a day earlier than its normal onset date. Initial monsoon rains are experienced over south Andaman Sea and the monsoon winds then advance north-westwards across the Bay of Bengal.
The MeT department also predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places in the national capital. Normally, the wind system reaches Delhi on June 27.
