In response to growing demand, the airline has increased the frequency of its Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram route, previously served twice a week, to a daily service.   

Air India will introduce new flights and increase frequencies in both domestic as well as international routes in its summer schedule starting from March 27.

Country's second largest low-cost carrier Spicejet Wednesday said it will add three new flights and 137 routes from August 29 to its give passengers more domestic and international travel options.

Low-cost airline IndiGo has said it will add eight new flights to its domestic network from Friday with additional daily services from Delhi to Chennai, Vadodara and Lucknow.

The Wadia group airline operates across 21 routes with over 975 flights and around 2,000 connections a week.

The new route will be operated by a two-class Airbus A320 aircraft configured to carry 136 passengers, with 16 seats in Business Class and 120 seats in Economy Class seats.

SpiceJet announced new flights on four high-density sectors, including Delhi-Lucknow and Bangalore-Hyderabad.

The addition of these new proposed services would take the airline's total number of flights to 502.
