BREAKING: The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Delhi government to decide on the enactment of odd even scheme and stepped away from the taking a decison itself.

Khattar has also said that a committee has been formed to control pollution in 4 districts of NCR in the state. The committee will include engineers and the commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), besides officers of the concerned departments.
"As per weather forecast, air quality in Delhi is expected to improve in the coming days. If the air quality does not improve, we will take a decision on extending the Odd-Even scheme on Monday morning," Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday.
Even as the air pollution level in the Delhi-NCR region continues to remain in the 'severe' category on Friday morning, no call on the extension of the odd-even scheme has been made yet. This comes as Friday (November 15) is the last day of the scheme which began on November 4, in Delhi government's efforts to curb the alarming spikes in air pollution.
"If required, we can extend the odd-even scheme," Kejriwal told reporters when asked about the initiative being given a likely extension in view of the rising air pollution in Delhi. The overall air quality index (AQI) in Delhi and NCR region today entered the 'severe' category again with not much improvement expected for the next two days.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is mulling the extension of the scheme if required. Kejriwal on Wednesday said, "Delhi`s air quality is deteriorating due to stubble burning. However, it has reduced a little due to rains in Punjab and Haryana. If required, we will extend the Odd-Even scheme."
The total number of challans on Friday was 532, while 454 challans were issued by the Delhi Traffic Police on Thursday. On Wednesday, 406 challans were issued. The Delhi Traffic Police had issued 233 challans on the first day of the scheme which will go on till November 15.
Earlier on Tuesday, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said that as many as 384 challans were issued till afternoon on the second day. 233 challans were issued on the first day of the road rationing scheme which will go on till November 15.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia informed that the AQI levels in the city have improved significantly and claimed that the second day of the Odd-Even drive was a success.
Justice Mishra asserted that on one hand the Delhi government, by using this scheme, has put a restriction on private cars but there is none on the autos and taxis. He added that these autos and taxis will ply and more and pollute equally. Justice Mishra stated that cars pollute less.
