R Ashwin and PR Sreejesh got the prestigious Padma Awards from President Droupadi Murmu on Monday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.  

P R Sreejesh was chosen for the Padma Bhushan, while recently-retired cricket star Ravichandran Ashwin was among the Padma Shri winners.

President Draupadi Murmu presented the Padma Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The President has awarded Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri to 55 citizens. SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav has been posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan. This honor was given to son Akhilesh Yadav.

President Draupadi Murmu honored 106 celebrities with Padma Awards for the year 2023 at the Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. Of these, 6 have been awarded Padma Vibhushan, 9 Padma Bhushan, 91 Padma Shri and 7 people have been awarded posthumously.

6 celebrities were selected to be honored with the Padma Vibhushan Award. After which PN Haksar, who was the Principal Secretary of Indira Gandhi, has refused to accept this honour. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has raised questions by tweeting.

Padma Awards 2023: This year, the President has approved 106 Padma Awards including 3 duo cases (in a duo case, the award is counted as one). The list comprises six Padma Vibhushan, nine Padma Bhushan and 91 Padma Shri Awards.

Late Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav will be honored with the Padma Vibhushan Award. 6 personalities from different Kshetras will be honored with Padma Vibhushan Award.

India`s Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu presented the Padma Bhushan, one of the country`s highest civilian Awards, to Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai in San Fransisco on behalf of Indian Government. On the eve of the 73rd Republic Day, the Ministry of Home Affairs had announced that Sundar Pichai would be awarded with Padma Bhushan.
