After remaining significantly high since 25 days, petrol and diesel prices have been marginally slashed on Thursday. State-run oil marketing companies on October 3 lowered the retail prices of petrol and diesel across major cities of the country. Petrol prices have been slashed by 9-10 paise and diesel prices have been reduced by 6-7 paise across four metropolitan cities of India on Thursday.

The Baleno RS is now priced at Rs 7.88 lakh after the discount. On Wednesday, following the announcement of reduction in corporate taxes by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Maruti Suzuki had announced an immediate Rs 5,000 cut in prices of its bestselling cars.

Among MNCs, Sanofi Aventis, Abbott and Pfizer are also likely to be affected owing to their sizeable share exposure on anti-diabetic segment and Indian market in general.
