The Muslim woman will have to get a divorce from her first husband under the Muslim Marriage Act 1939.  

In the petition filed before the High Court, the main accused Tausif and Mohammad Rihan had demanded that there should be an impartial investigation in the entire matter under the supervision of the Director-General of Police (DGP). However, Justice Sudeep Ahulwalia dismissed Tausif's demand for a re-probe into the case.
