Ahead of Holi, the weather office has forecast thundershowers and hailstorms till Wednesday due to two successive extra-tropical weather systems. 

Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand may also witness widespread rains till August 24.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light showers with the possibility of heavy thundershowers in various parts of the country on September 30, 2021.

Cyclone Gulab has now weakened into a Depression. It lay centred about 135 km east of Nizamabad (Telangana), 270 km south-southeast of Nagpur Sonegaon (Vidarbha) on Monday night.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the monsoon seems to continue this year beyond the expected time limit in several states.

Global Times reported that Beijing is expected to see 2021’s heaviest rainfall from Sunday afternoon, which could last 30 hours. Cumulative rainfall is expected to reach 60 to 100 millimeters in the city from the evening to Tuesday morning.

IMD predicted that Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema are also likely to witness heavy downpour throughout the day.

The weather forecasting agency also predicted heavy downpour over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.

 Coast Guard has put its formations on high alert and its Dornier aircraft and ships have been deployed off Kerala, Lakshadweep and Minicoy islands, and south Tamil Nadu seas.

Heavy rains are expected to lash several parts of India on Friday, August 10, warned the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The weather department on Sunday issued a warning of heavy rainfall in Mumbai and the coastal Konkan region in the next three days.
