A Delhi High Court bench led by Justice Brijesh Sethi said the matter will be heard on a day-to-day basis from October 5 at 2:30 PM. The probe agencies have sought an early hearing of their ‘leave to appeal', listed for October 12. A special court had on December 21, 2017 acquitted Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and others in CBI and ED cases related to the scam.

In its plea, the CBI has said that this is a matter of national hence the the pending appeal of the CBI should be heard soon. The next hearing of the case will be held on July 30.

Karunanidhi's health deteriorated on Sunday evening leading to rumours. Kauvery Hospital, in a medical bulletin, informed that his vital signs were returning to normal. Chaotic scenes unfolded outside the hospital with thousands of supporters gathered here. They were lathi charged. MK Stalin urged people to maintain calm. A Raja asked party workers to not believe in rumours.

The Delhi High Court passed the order on the appeals filed by the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI in connection with the 2G scam case.  

The ED too had on Monday filed a plea in the Delhi High Court against the trial court's acquittal of the accused persons.

Besides Raja and Kanimozhi, the special court had on December 21 last year acquitted 17 others.

Mehta will oversee the appeal against the CBI special court verdict by February 19.
