The political slugfest in Karnataka continued on Thursday as the trust vote against the HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government could not be taken up by the state assembly which was adjourned till Friday following a blame game between the ruling Congress-JDS and BJP legislators.

In the Cabinet reshuffle and expansion last week, MLAs Ramesh Jarkiholi and Independent R Shankar were dropped from the JDS-led ministry.

Karnataka government on Sunday replaced the word 'minorities' with 'all innocent' in its revised circular. The replacement was aimed at taking back cases filed in the last five years against those who were involved in communal clashes.

Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Sunday said that the state government is planning to frame a law which will enable capital punishment to rapists of minor girls.

The Congress leader said that ever since he became the home minister, he has been noticing that certain BJP leaders were trying to provoke people.

Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Tuesday asserted that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh has received 'some information and clues' but cannot reveal them at this point of time.

Siddaramaiah also reiterated his government`s readiness to reward anyone who furnished a lead into the crime.

"Chief Minister (Siddaramaiah) has given instructions to intensify the investigation and nab the culprits as soon as possible. We have given enough officials to the SIT, if they need additional officers we are ready to give," Reddy said.

The state BJP had planned the "Mangaluru Chalo" bike rally and the public meeting to condemn the murders of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers in the state.
