In the recent months, a number of videos had surfaced where some army jawans were seen voicing their anger over the Sahayak system with some even alleging that they are treated as servants by the officers whom they are attached to.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday refused to make any comment on the death of a jawan in Maharashtra recently but said Army has been told to work on how to appropriately address the grievances of soldiers.
The soldier, Lance Naik Roy Mathew, had been reported missing since February 25 and his decomposed body was found hanging from the ceiling of an abandoned barrack.
