Delhi HC on Tuesday charged Sharjeel Imam, Safoora Zargar and seven other accused under sections related to rioting, unlawful assembly, obstructing the public servant, damaging Properties and other sections.
Safoora Zargar and some Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leaders have been accused of being the "masterminds" of the February 2020 violence in northeast Delhi.
Asif told the police that former JNU student Umar Khalid asked him to hold road blockade during the visit of US President Donald Trump to India in February this year.
Zargar was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 10,000.
Zargar, an MPhil student of Jamia Millia Islamia, was arrested by the local police on Saturday in connection with protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act in northeast Delhi's Jaffrabad in February.
Delhi Police on Saturday arrested Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC) media incharge Safoora Zargar for her alleged involvement in violence which erupted in some parts of Delhi due to anti-Citienship Amendment Act protests in February 2020.
